About the Guide/Instructor
Neil is a native of Eugene Oregon who moved to Nashville in 1994, and established an accredited fly fishing course at Belmont University, and abbreviated versions for Vanderbilt, and Cumberland Universities.
Neil is widely known for his contributions and teaching of "Conscious Breath Casting", which improves casting performance and stamina by integrating yoga influenced breathing with casting techniques.
Before moving to Nashville, Neil guided on such famed Northwest rivers as the Skagit and Skykomish in Washington, and the Deschutes and McKenzie in his native Oregon.
He also did commercial fly tying for several fly shops and guides in the Puget Sound area, and casting clinics with Sage and Loomis rods and Lamson reels.
Neil launched the "Lady K" in 2017, a 17 ft custom McKenzie River drift boat, which he took 3 years to build and now uses for his guided float trips.
Neil is know for his relaxed style and experiential approach to teaching and guiding fly fishing. Fly fishing after all is an art form, and no 2 people will experience or express it in quite the same way, or partake in it for quite the same reasons. That's the magic of it.
